The easiest way to get started on your Nod template is to import a document or template you have previously used and work from that. This will make sure your documents remain standardised whilst saving you a tonne of time re-typing content.
We recommend you use your Master Template, or the most comprehensive version of your document to make sure you don't miss any content when setting up your template. This document will have to be a .docx file in order to import into Nod.
- From the main page, navigate to Templates then select 'Create New' to upload a document to use as your template.
- Once the document template has imported, Nod will generally use paragraph breaks to create content assets within the new template. The right-hand column is your properties tab, which will display how many assets (paragraphs) your imported document has broken up into, and template properties. Switching to the Library tab will show these assets have been imported into the library.
- You can edit assets from the template editor, or you can delete them from the template (they will remain in your library unless you delete them from there as well).
- Editing assets will allow you to give rules to the assets that will govern how the template will behave when you get to the document editor stage.
Identify which elements of the document will change according to the client. These will be your 'fields' that you will later fill in according to each new document.
