An Overview of Nod
People spend far too much time editing documents and too little time with clients. You can spend more time with clients if you automate document creation and review. Nod is a document automation and compliance platform purpose-built to help you achieve that result. Here's how it works...
1. Create and store content assets
Content assets are the building blocks of Nod documents. They can be made up of text, tables and images. Each asset can have lots of content or a little content, it's completely up to you! Generally, the more specific and granular you make your content assets, the better you can automate your documents.
One content asset can exist in multiple document templates so you don't have to change the asset multiple times across multiple document templates.
In the asset editor, a rich text editor we built ourselves, you can perform all the editing functions you need to format the structure of your document including: heading structure, alignment, bullet and numerical lists and more.
2. Create document templates
Templates are really where the magic happens in Nod. It's where you see all your content assets come together into a centralised place to drive a document automation use case. Getting your content into your templates is super easy - you just drag and drop content assets in!
Templates is also where you can set up your Forms to ensure getting data into your documents is easy. It's important to do this as it means you can enter things like Client First Name once into the Form and it will appear in all the places in the document that it needs to without you having to type it multiple times.
Once you've created your Form you can then go ahead and create Rules. This is REALLY where the magic happens. You can link your content assets to the Form with conditional logic. For example, a Rule might state: print Content Asset 1 if Client First Name contains the value Joel. Using clear logic like this throughout your template will allow you to minimize the amount of manual editing you do, saving you a bunch of time that you can then spend with clients.
3. Connect to other data sources
We know you've probably already got a bunch of useful data sitting in your CRM or financial planning tool and having to double handle data sucks! Well have no fear, we've made it really easy to connect Nod to other data sources like XPLAN.
We've made it so easy you don't even need a Software Engineer to set up and maintain the integration! It's an innovative, no-code integration experience. You simply select the data from the other data source you want to link to your Nod Form field. You only have to link the field once at the account level and all users of the account benefit from the form field mapping of whoever completes this task.
4. Create documents in minutes
Once the Template is set up, document creation is a breeze. Simply name the document, select the Template and the client from your XPLAN and the document will be drafted with all the client data included. Make any additional selections and data entries you need to in the Form and your document is complete.
If you need to make further edits you can do so in the feature rich editor. You can also drag more content into the document from your library if you need to.
